Carbide vs. Stellite tips on gang saws

I’ve been working with Stellite triangle tips and Stellite Plasma tipping material on Gang and board edger saws for almost 20 years.  I see some sawmills using carbide on the gangs and edgers. I’m wondering if there is any cost benefit of running one or the other. Moving shop question

My shop is now what you would call home based. I have a good pick up and delivery route, good trade in shipping blades and also a good walk in trade. Things are going pretty well. I Have out grown my space. ( 1500 sq ft) and electrical service. I Have no retail area and I am not on a major road.

 

I am considering moving the shop to a commercial space on a major road near by. There are 3 choices within 4 miles. This would mean buying a building. All three also have a separate…

AvantiPro Saw Blade

Does anyone know, is the AvantiPro 80T Fine Finish saw blade just a Dewalt (Black & Decker) 80T DW3128 with a blue edge instead of a yellow edge?  The configuration looks like it and the markings on the blade are similar to the Oldham 12080TP.
